Industrial Zen Garden

VA[A]DS, Tbilisi, Georgia, 2021

An installation of 'Scrapestries' and sculptures made from industrial materials and natural fibres.

The term 'Scrapestries' combines tapestries and scrap. It relates to the process of weaving, connects the two words and finds harmony in abandoned materials. Tapestries were used to tell a moment in history. Scrapestries tell a moment in memory, in time, in comfort, in pain, in beauty, in loneliness, in company, in reality, in lingering happenings.

Once installed the sculptures were connected through a series of movements that were performed at midday on each day of the instalment.
