Born 1990. Lives and works in London.

Interested in ecology and connection, Amiralis explores our relationships with community, landscape and material. The act of finding materials and developing a work or project, is integral to the artists process.

Materials are found by chance and it is important to know that the act of finding is never a hunt. Conscious of the mediums journey, from creation to landfill, the artist recycles materials from work to work. A viewer will often see materials flow from one form to another. These forms, when not being used, sit in the artists material library.

Through experimentation and play, found objects are used to create site specific sculpture and public proposals. Themes of (urban and earth) architecture and land art are embedded within the artists socially engaged practice.

Amiralis is inspired by artists such as Agnes Denes, Isamu Noguchi and Richard Long who create public and land sculpture works. They each exhibit unique socio-political ideas and have a sensitivity towards nature and audience.

To investigate how art can invite audience engagement and action further, Amiralis has launched projects that provide new opportunities to research, learn and connect with others through experience. Projects are formed by a two-part process, half with thorough research and planning and half with improvisation. These explore new rural and urban landscapes however over the course of the pandemic have also entered the digital realm. This has enabled projects to continue in a new format whilst still providing opportunities for personal development and collaboration.
